Dylan saves a turtle!

Dylan and his family were going on holiday, They flew in the sky in a big white airplane!

Dylan was very excited to go to the beach to build sand castles,eat ice cream and see what interesting creatures he could find in the sea!

When they arrived on holiday, Dylan got his sun cream on, his lovely yellow sun hat and his bright sea shoes and headed to the beach with his mummy, daddy and sister Ada to see what he could find.

Dylan found lots of exciting things…

• 1 funny red crab that walked sideways along the sand!
• 2 starfish stuck to the rocks!
• 3 stripy fish that mummy said were called clown fish!

Then Dylan found something rather strange, it was a beautiful turtle that Dylan had named Tommy turtle.

However poor Tommy turtle seemed to be trapped in what looked like a sweet wrapper. He helped the young turtle out of the empty packet and it swam away in a hurry!

Dylan didn’t like to think that, maybe there could have been more turtles or fish that could have needed his help, if only people used the dustbins on the beach!!!

Dylan then made it his mission to clean the beach as much as he could to make sure no more sea creatures came to any harm. He managed to fill 5 full bags of rubbish from the beach that day with the help from his mummy, daddy and his little sister Ada.

The next day Dylan and his family went on a boat trip, the sea seemed to go on for miles!

He spotted 2 dolphins, they were very clever and could jump in and out of the water!

Dylan could then see something else swimming towards their boat, what could it be?

As it got closer, they realised it was turtles! Hundreds and hundreds of turtles!

The turtles had heard about how Dylan helped save their smallest turtle members life, and cleaned the beach to stop it from happening to any of them again, they were very grateful!

They presented Dylan with the biggest shell award anyone had ever seen!

Dylan couldn’t wait to get back home to tell all his friends about his award and how he’d come to achieve it!

After everyone had heard the wonderful news, everybody stopped littering and no more sea creatures got stuck, ever again!

Dylan saved the turtles, and possibly the whole ocean!
